Inter-library Loans (ILL) Glucksman Library University of Limerick

The Inter-Library Loan (ILL) service can assist you in obtaining books/journal articles that are not held directly by the Glucksman Library.  We do this by sourcing items from other external (national and international) libraries.  Please be aware although every effort will be made to source an item it is not always possible to source every request. Be selective in choosing which items you require.  The cost of obtaining ILLs are met by the Library on your behalf.

There are two ways to request ILL items:
 

  • Firstly you can make a request directly through this ILL form  (You will be prompted to log in using your UL login details, research students and postgraduates must use their student ID email (studentnumber@studentmail.ul.ie) as their username.

  • Secondly an alternative way to request an item (Book Chapter/Journal Article only) is through Library Search, please click here for more information

 

Items to note

****Check the Library Search in advance - we might have the item****

When making a request please provide as much information as possible

  • Name of journal article /title of book /book chapter
  • Name of journal
  • Author's name
  • Date of publication
  • Page numbers

  • Requests can be submitted 24/7  Collection times (print only) during office hours – see below.
  • Staff available during office hours (in term-time)
    09.00 - 21.00hrs Mon – Fri.
    10:00 – 16:00 Sat.
