Third-Party Cookies

The "Illegal Institution" message is usually caused by a browser blocking third-party cookies.

Customized Behaviours:

We recommend enabling third-party cookies in the settings of your web browser. 

On occasion, users are also required to allow exceptions within Customized Behaviours.

To do this: under Allowed to use third-party cookies

Click Add

Copy and paste the terms below into the pop-up box. These allow Leganto and Brightspace to use third-party cookies:

[*.]exlibrisgroup.com

[*.]learn.ul.ie

Chrome

Enable third-party cookies in Chrome

  1. On your computer, open Chrome.
  2. At the top right, click More More  and then  Settings Settings .
  3. Under "Privacy and security," click Third Party Cookies.
  4. Select an option:
    1. Allow third-party cookies.
    2. Block third party cookies in Incognito.
    3. Block third-party cookies.

Safari

Enable third-party cookies in Safari 

  1. In the Safari app https://help.apple.com/assets/63B879E421AB1015D2090556/63B879E421AB1015D209055D/en_GB/6846073fc6f766d1ad3f66ae757c5e24.png  on your Mac, choose Safari > Settings, then click Privacy.
  2. Deselect “Block all cookies”.
  3. Websites, third parties and advertisers can store cookies and other data on your Mac.
