Oxford University Press (OUP) Open Access Publishing Deal

This agreement as part of the IReL consortium, covers the period of the 1 Jan 2021 – 31 Dec 2023. It will allow all accepted articles in Oxford University Press Hybrid journals

  • For articles accepted from April 2021: eligible corresponding authors will be invited to make their articles open access on acceptance.
  • For articles accepted between January 2021 and March 2021: eligible corresponding authors will be contacted by OUP in late April 2021, inviting them to make the article open access retrospectively.  in Oxford University Press Hybrid and Open Access journals from current UL staff or students to be made open access immediately upon publication. 

 

Journals Covered

All 84 OUP published open access journals and over 360 hybrid journals (subscription journals which include open access content) are included in this deal

20 titles are subscription-only so do not currently offer open access. Title lists (correct as of April 2021)

Author Information

For articles accepted from April 2021: eligible corresponding authors will be invited to make their articles open access on acceptance.


For articles accepted between January 2021 and March 2021: eligible corresponding authors will be contacted by OUP in late April 2021, inviting them to make the article open access retrospectively.

Corresponding authors must be a current staff member or student of UL.  

In the article submission process you must correctly identify your institution.

You should use your UL email address when submitting your article. 

If your manuscript is accepted for publication, the publisher will give you the opportunity to make your article Open Access and apply a Creative Commons license. The publisher will then contact the participating institution to confirm your eligibility under the agreement.
